Budget 3 days Tanzania Safaris
This budget 3 day Tanzania safari presents visitors with a brief yet profound exploration of two of Tanzania’s most illustrious national parks, offering opportunity for wildlife observation and cultural understanding.

Day 1: Transfer from Arusha to Tarangire National Park
Start your Budget 3 days Tanzania Safaris at Arusha, a city with a population of over 400,000, serving as the gateway to Tanzania’s northern safari circuit. Arusha is recognized for its nearness to Mount Meru, the fifth-highest summit in Africa, standing at 4,566 meters.
Commence travel to Tarangire National Park, the sixth-largest national park in Tanzania, encompassing an area of 2,850 square kilometers. The park is named for the Tarangire River, which traverses it and serves as a crucial water source for wildlife in the dry season.
During the journey, traverse Maasai villages, noting traditional bomas (homesteads) and herding methodologies. The Maasai in this area have preserved numerous traditions while accommodating contemporary influences.
Upon arrival, go in an afternoon wildlife drive in Tarangire. The park is famous for its substantial elephant population and remarkable baobab trees, with some estimated to exceed 1,000 years in age. In the evening, study the Datoga people, a pastoralist tribe residing in regions adjacent to Tarangire. The Datoga are recognized for their skilled blacksmithing and unique facial tattoos.
Day 2: Tarangire to Serengeti National Park
Following a morning wildlife drive in Tarangire, proceed to Serengeti National Park. The expedition traverses the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Pause at Olduvai Gorge, frequently referred to as the “Cradle of Mankind.” This archeological site has produced some of the oldest hominid fossils discovered, going back 1.9 million years. The on-site museum offers insights into human evolution and the pioneering research of the Leakeys.
Access Serengeti National Park around the late afternoon. The Serengeti habitat spans 30,000 square kilometers and accommodates the biggest terrestrial mammal migration globally. Partake in a nighttime game drive, emphasizing the park’s abundant biodiversity. The Serengeti hosts more than 500 avian species and 70 kinds of big mammals. Investigate the Maasai people’s historical connection with the Serengeti habitat. The term “Serengeti” originates from the Maasai word “siringet,” which translates to “endless plains.”
Accommodation: Serengeti Sopa Lodge
Day 3: Serengeti National Park to Arusha
Begin the day with an early morning safari in the Serengeti. This is an ideal moment to spot predators and experience the park awakening with the sunrise.
Explore the Serengeti Visitor Center to acquire knowledge about the park’s ecology, fauna, and conservation initiatives. The center offers insights into the fragile equilibrium of the Serengeti environment and the difficulties associated with its conservation.
Should time permit, visit a small school funded by tourism to comprehend educational initiatives in rural Tanzania. These visits provide insights into the beneficial effects of responsible tourism on local communities.
Commence departure for Arusha in the late morning. The return route provides concluding vistas of the Tanzanian terrain and agrarian existence. Participants may alternatively choose a scenic fly from Serengeti to Arusha (for an extra fee), thereby minimizing travel duration and offering an aerial view of the terrain. Upon arriving in Arusha, proceed to the Maasai Market for final souvenir purchases. This market features an assortment of traditional crafts, including as beading, wood carvings, and fabrics.
Conclude the safari with a visit to the Cultural past Centre, which contains an extensive collection of African art and offers insights into Tanzania’s rich cultural past.
